Michael Jackson RIP

thumb_62333192__35257The tragic death of Michael Jackson ‘The King of Pop’ has devastated fans worldwide. Just 2 days before his untimely death I published a story on what is likely to be his last photo ever taken by London Celebrity Photographer John Wright not knowing his dreadful fate.

Every fan had a special place in their heart for what many believe was THE best entertainer the world has ever experienced. I remember vividly when my father, who introduced me to soul and R & B and at a very early age, bought me Michael’s ‘Off the Wall’ Album, I was just 11 years old, Michael would have been about 21 at the time. In the early 1980′s at my school in particular it wasnt cool to admit to liking anything but SKA music and all the other bands around at the time including Madness, The Specials, Bad Manners. Born in 1942 from a  very much working class background my father has a huge passion for black music including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, both Motown and Philadelphia labels and the late great Marvin Gaye who my father took me to America to see in concert. My only regret, like many around the world,  is that I didnt get to see Michael perform at the O2 Centre this summer in London with my 11 year old daughter completing a 3rd generation of fans. To many Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer of all time and the world wont experience another like it. RIP Michael.
